January 2008, and what a terrific start to the year. Siskins have returned to my garden having been away for at least 3 years. I have no idea what bought them back, it was a cold miserable day, dull and not really a day for my camera! However I was able to take these shots of these pretty little birds through a bedroom window, with the 40d and a Tamron lens. |

Unfortunately I was not able to photograph a male, as so far there have only been the famale birds in the garden!! They are very agile and feed upside down, and are strangely attracted to the red peanut bags!! |

| and finally - the male did make an appearance - and when I took this picture there were 4 female and 2 male on the feeders!! |
