| EARLY MORNING ON BICKERTON HILL , February 2008 |
Every morning, as soon as the sun is up, I take my two labradors on Bickerton Hill. In January and February it is not light much before 8 o'clock. Normally I do not take a camera, as with two dogs to keep an eye on, it is difficult to concentrate on birds! However I did take the 20d and a small Sigma lens this morning - and a little later I regretted not having the normal 400mm lens!!

| - the scene at the beginning of my walk |

The long field (below) fairly near the top of the hill is a part of the hill where I frequently see raptors |

| |

| This is where I really wished I had a larger lens!! The sheep (below) were at the bottom of the tree where the Buzzard was perched!! |

| |

| I had great difficulty in taking the pictures of the buzzard and making sure that my two dogs were not tempted to run into the fields with the sheep!! |

| AND LATE AFTERNOON , STARLING ROOST, AT NEARBY CHOLMONDLEY |

| an amazing sight -which lasted for 30 minutes |
